Identity, Art Direction
Critical Distance is a conference programme that takes place in between editions held by the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. Since 2011, Critical Distance allows close proximity and dialogue between public and speakers. The guests are acclaimed architecture thinkers, with consistent and singular careers recognized by critics.
The briefing was to explore the concept of distance, without highlighting the name. The team concluded that the “Critical Distance” name, besides being a great one, was not working for the audience. So, strategically, the goal was to create something graphically recognizable, which could work as an identity for the conferences, but that primarily communicated the imaginary of the guest’s work.
