Critical Distance

The Lisbon Architecture Triennale organizes this program of conferences since 2011. The guests are acclaimed international thinkers and practitioners of architecture, with consistent and singular careers. The talks are held at CCB, Belém Cultural Centre, in Lisbon. In 2017, I took on the job of handling a new approach to its image. 

The briefing was to explore the concept of distance, without highlighting the name. The team concluded that the “Critical Distance” name, even though great, was not catching on as expected by the audience. So, strategically, the goal was to create something graphically recognizable, which could work as an identity for the conferences but that primarily communicated the imaginary of the guest’s work.
